Our mission

We are a group of volunteers who are transforming how food banks get good nutritious food. We take manufacturing and food opportunities and use our partner network to develop high quality food at exceptional value. We deliver that food to those who need it most.

We are a charitable organization with 100% of ALL donations going back to the cause. We can do this because we don't have any salaries, no office, no overhead, no office lunches or entertaining, or administration costs.

HOW WE WORK

‍We work with our like-minded partners to source opportunities (crops, food, manufacturing) available at no profit or highly discounted rates. We take these opportunities and turn them into GOOD nutritious products under The For GOOD Foundation label.

Our model means that Food Banks Canada is able to increase their purchase efficiency because every dollar now delivers 25%-60% more food than it did before.

We believe this unique model is a highly efficient way to provide food to those who need it most.

We are a charitable organization that raises money through private donations and fundraising. 100% of those dollars goes to providing food and not administration fees.

WE WILL HELP FOOD BANKS TO MORE
EFFECTIVELY ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS

In 2018 Food Banks Canada used cash donations to buy $27 million of food from retailers and wholesalers.

Our model, with our partners, allows us to make our products for substantially lower costs than those that a food bank would pay a commercial retailer.

Our For GOOD products will only be available to food banks, shelters and missions for free or at substantially below market prices for the 500 affiliates of Food Banks Canada through our For GOOD partner distributor.

This means that food bank purchasing efficiency is dramatically improved. Food Banks Canada estimates the For GOOD Foundation will improve the efficiency of its collective spend by 25%-60% savings versus market prices.

We will never put our products into the commercial marketplace and we will never make one cent on any of these items.

OUR FOR GOOD PRODUCTS

We worked with Food Banks Canada to understand their high demand products across their 500+ food banks in Canada and then tested our products with volunteers and clients for their feedback and approval.

Today our product assortment includes a range of high demand products including tomato soup, pasta sauce, pasta ABCs, kidney beans, baked beans, vegetarian chili, rice, lentils, chick peas, pasta, peanut butter and tuna.
‍We believe that hungry Canadians deserve good nutritious food and this was paramount when we developed our products.

WE ARE A DIFFERENT KIND OF NON PROFIT

Our mandate from the first day was that 100% of ALL donations would go towards covering the cost of making and giving our products to food banks, shelters and missions.

It's a clean and transparent model - the charity has no administration fees that need to be covered by donations. Any costs are personally covered by us - so no overheads, no donuts, no salaries need to be covered by donations.

We know that Canadians are generous and want to help their community and their neighbours who are less fortunate. Our charity provides a concrete way for Canadians to make a difference.
